Happy Birthday, Bulldozer!

So, I decided to start refering to my kids with nicknames. My 3 1/2 year old is now officially Raja b/c he definitely thinks he's the king of this house, and my sweet 12mth old baby is Bulldozer b/c he ploughs through the house when he crawls and now walks.

So, Happy 1st Birthday, Bulldozer!
I can't believe it's officially been a year. Thank God for whole milk!!! We had already gotten through the sleepless night phase, now we are through with breastfeeding and formula stage! Wow - I can't believe it. I truly feel blessed to reach this monumentous milestone. Now if I could only lose this baby weight from pregnancy 1 & 2!! BTW, how long can I call it baby weight? Don't tell it's when your baby turns a year, b/c then I'm totally screwed.

So, what else is new with bulldozer? He's back to wanting to walk again. He's absolutely everywhere. He just does circles around the house - playroom to living room to kitchen. Did I say playroom? Yes, the hubby said once the youngest turned 1, I could finally convert my dining room actually into a dining room. Has anything happened yet. Of course not... Publishing this on my blog is my first step to dropping a hint... unfortunately, the hubs doesn't read my blog.

And in other big news... drumroll, please... a urban desi legend actually comes true. My mother-in-law swore she could potty train a baby under the age of 1. With Raja, I told her more power to you and gave her the baby potty and off she went. Well, 3 years later, he was finally potty-trained. So, now with baby #2, my MIL takes the baby potty to her house and says she's going to try again with bulldozer. My response, "Good luck (sarcastically), and more power to you (really)!" Guess what - it's working. This kid is actually going pee pee in the potty. All I do is put him on the toilet before his bath; do the famous desi "sssssss" sound, and out it comes! Amazing!!!! It's been 2 days in a row! I don't know what to think except for my MIL is a miracle-worker. Gimme a pump for those desi MILs.

Sorry, I don't have any deals for the week. I haven't been shopping much post Christmas. The only deals I can report is sign up for the DSW rewards program. I just got a $20 off coupon in the mail on a pair of shoes for $49.00+ . That's a pretty good coupon. And my personal best deal in the past week; I'm on Flemings steakhouse mailing list, and I filled out a survey regarding the restaurant, and they just sent me a $50 giftcard for dinner there. Score! Anyone ready for a night out?

I guess the other deal is not really a deal, but more of just plain good advice. If you are a family of 4 and in anyway similar to me, you probably shop at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic. Depending on you, your hubby, or the kiddos, I rotate between all 3 stores for trendy and cheap, good quality and casual, and nice for work. Anyways, if you drop any sort of dough in these stores, definitely get the Gap or BR credit card. I know what you are thinking - not another credit card; but again - trust me. You get more coupons, reward points, mailers, etc. that's just plain good for your wallet. Plus, open one today and you'll start off with 20% your first purchase. I know that gimmic is everywhere, so really only sign up if your whole family shops at these stores.

Okay, I'm signing out... Happy Birthday, Bulldozer! Mama loves u!
