I've decided to coin a new phrase, "Bad Mommy Day"; I plan on using this phrase the same way "Bad Hair Day" is used.
I'll teach you how it works, through real life examples out of my own life this week:
You know your having a bad mommy day when...
1) You run out of whole milk and give your kids 1 day old fat free milk b/c that's all you got
2) You wake up and realize that not only are you out of milk, you are also out of waffles, eggs, bread, AND cereal and cannot feed your child before daycare
3) Your 3yr old is screaming, "I want Mommy to put me to bed; not Daddy!", while you are on a conference call
4) Your baby has tumbled, toppled, and fallen 5 different times in the past week headfirst on the tile floor
5) You 3yr old now imitates you by wanting to play "laptop" together and be on "conference call" together because that's all he ever sees you do
You get my drift... What a crazy week this has been.
Fee free to post comments of your own Bad Mommy Day... I can't wait to see them!
I hope I'm not alone in this world!!! Daddies are welcome to post "Bad Daddy Days, too.

We have been having a bad family week since returning from India. It is a combination of all of us being jet lagged, Ratna and I returning to work, Diya returning to day care, no groceries in the house, the mess of unpacking and all of the associated laundry, not to mention the nice layer of dust on everything after 3 weeks on the road. After only a 3 day week, I am very much looking forward to the weekend.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this phrase and definitely think that there is also a bad mommy week, bad daddy weekend, and potentially, bad mommy month. I have had the bad mommy week, and of course, Sanjiv, after I saddled him with Diya this weekend as I went off to serve in our nation's military, has surely had a baby daddy weekend. Bad mommy day can start with a scolding to your 8.5 month old who thinks you are joking and laughs at you and the day ends with your boss cancelling your non-refundable ticket to Virginia - where you were reluctantly travelling for business and planning to take the infant along. Yeah, it gets better everyday. Did I mention I have not seen my infant or fed her for over 70 hours? Yeah... talk about bad mommy! Thank god for the daddy on some weekends.
