My hubby and I went out and tried the new restaurant downtown: Imperia http://www.imperiaaustin.com/. It was definitely a very cool place to dine and the food was great. If you go, here's my recommendations: 1) Get a reservation prior to calling same day - I called that morning for a dinner reservation and no luck. It was almost a 2hr wait for a table as a walk-in. We ended up eating in the bar/lounge area which was nice since we got cocktails and small plates. 2) Try the duck kabobs - they have a ton of flavor (portions are small - only 2 per plate, but still worth it!) 3) Try the raspberry & lychee martini.... sooooo good. Need I say more!
The other big thing I did was go to the Duran Duran concert. It was such a blast. We had so much fun. Before the show, we got appetizers at La Taverna - $10 for a good size pizza with lots of different varieties of specialty toppings. Then, we walked over to the newly renovated Austin Music Hall. It is definitely a lot bigger than it use to be, but I would call that a negative vs. a positive. It was a general admission show and they packed more 30 something year olds than necessary. It was elbow to elbow and a lot of pushing for a place to stand, but the music was awesome and they played a lot of their old hits. Some of the new stuff is pretty good, too!
Okay, enough on the social scene...
Here's some deals for you for last minute Christmas shopping:
Toys-R-US is doing a shop early Dec 16th . Doors are open until midnight Friday night and open at 7am Saturday morning! Perfect for the busy mom who still needs to buy gifts.
Ann Taylor and Loft is doing a 30% friends and family + free shipping this weekend. Use code holiday30. For in stores, I can email you a coupon.
Carters is doing a one-day sale of 25% off your entire purchase of $50 or more Dec 15th. I'm tempted to start stocking up on size 4T pajamas for little R tomorrow. I love Carter's pajamas!!!
Finally, if you haven't signed up for e-mom rewards with USA Baby, you really, really need to! They run their $10 off anything with no minimum purchase ALL THE TIME! It's like I go to Central Market every Sat to get groceries and then I go over to USA Baby to pick up some $10 item that I get free! How sweet it that.
Okay, I'm out. Have a good week!
