Gorgeous Weekend in Austin

Hey,

So, what a beautiful weekend in Austin, TX!!! This is one of those weekends that really makes you love living in Austin.

We had lots of visitors this week including my sister-in-law and my sister. We had a blast!

I started off my weekend going out on the town Thurs night and celebrating Diwali Friday night. Thursday, we did drinks at Z Tejas, dinner at Castle Hill, and then after dinner drinks on 4th street. Friday, we had a nice dinner at a friend's house and then my sis and I went downtown to South Congress.

We had drinks over at Doc's on South Congress which was great since it was such a gorgeous night and walked a bit south in search of the red velvet cupcake... huh?? Yes, there is a very cute trailer setup called Hey, Cupcake! that is supposed to sell amazing cupcakes. Unfortunately, they had already sold out of the red velvet and vanilla or chocolate just wasn't going to cut it.

Saturday started off with the usual cleaning house and home time, but ended with a lot of fun! I took R to the park in the am and then we sat outside and had lunch on our new patio while the kiddos played in the backyard in the afternoon. Then, I played my tennis match and we won 6-4, 6-3! Great season, girls! We finished with a celebratory toast over a great glass of La Crema, Chardonnay on the patio of the Circle C tennis club.

Saturday evening we went to our new local Mexican place Texican Cafe. It's way south off Manchaca and when you first walk in you might not be too sure about the place, but it's very kid-friendly and they have a great dish there - the chicken diablo enchiladas. It has a great spicy sauce and it has chicken fajita meat vs. shredded chicken. I order it with light cheese and usually only finish half because the portion is huge. The leftovers taste awesome, too.

So, the great weekend is not over yet! Sunday, V, my sister, and I checked out the Taste of Lexus event. I test drove a $104,000 car - the LS 600hL on a private driving course while my sister sat in the backseat and experienced a shiatzu massage. I'm not kidding! It had the full backseat console where you could actually fold the front seat forwarded if you wanted to, fully recline the backseat, and enjoy a chair massage. The other new discovery is that sports coupe convertible I drove doesn't blow your hair everywhere with the top down. Nice!

Later, we took the kids to the park. Baby I loves sitting in the rocks and swinging. R is really into pretend play, so the swings turn into rocket ships that takes us to the moon and we play on the moon for a bit. Then we swing the opposite direction to get back home to planet Earth.

Okay, enough weekend stuff....

Sounds like a great weekend! Thanks for the info. on the deals

Saturday I was at the Disney Store and got an additional 40% all sale items. Went to town on Diwali/Christmas Princess themed gifts! Not sure when the sales ends. Call you closest Disney store to find out.

Also, went to the Bass store and here are some promos:
-Sing up for their emails/coupons and get 10% your purchase when signing up and an additional $10 off coupon will come in the email in 10 days. In addition, they give a key ring card that they will scan each time you are in the store to see what coupons you are eligible for (you don't have to print the coupons they send in the emails).
- Black Friday sale- They open at Midnight (right after your Turkey dinner) and have 50% the entire store midnight to 11 am. Also there is an additional $10 off your purchase of $60 (I think that is what it is).
